This simple, yet decadent Chocolate Blueberry Muffin Oatmeal is full of chocolate flavor, sweetened with a banana, spiced with cinnamon, then topped with blueberry perfection. It’s a delicious wholesome oatmeal recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to make and is far from boring.



Always opt for organic ingredients.

  • 1/2 cup gluten-free rolled oats
  • 1 medium ripe banana, mashed
  • 1 cup unsweetened non-dairy milk
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp ground flax seeds
  • 1/2 tsp chocolate covered chia seeds
  • 1/4 tsp ceylon cinnamon

Optional toppings


  1. Combine: Begin by adding the mashed ripe banana to a small saucepan. Add the rolled oatscacao powder, ceylon cinnamon, chocolate covered chia seeds, ground flax seeds, non-dairy milk, and stir to combine.
  2. Cook: Simmer until the milk has absorbed into the oats, about 6 to 8 minutes. Stir frequently to prevent burning.
  3. Serve: Place into a serving bowl. Top with fresh blueberries, dark chocolate chips, and a drizzle of creamy peanut butter, if desired.


  • You can replace the chocolate covered chia seeds with regular chia seeds.
  • Be sure your banana is ripe. The more ripe your banana is, the sweeter your oatmeal will be.
  • For the best texture, I use rolled oats, but you can use quick oats, or if you have more time, you can also use steel cut oats.
  • Add any of your favorite toppings.
  • Not a big fan of blueberries? No worries! Top with your favorite type of berries.
  • If you don’t have fresh berries on hand, simply use frozen!
